Trying out L’Oréal Products

To say that I understand makeup and beauty products so well now is an exaggerated statement. I do manage a website about women’s lifestyle and I read dozens of beauty articles daily to keep up with the news and trends… but I still dread whenever a friend asks for my opinion or ‘review’ about a product I used. I’m slow to realize that a product caused bad reactions on my skins. And I still wonder why adults don’t have that head-to-toe product they have for babies. Wouldn’t it be so much easier and practical? Imagine just having to pack one item in your toiletries bag for traveling.

Anyway, of course, now I used more products than I did a few years ago. I noticed when I arrange some of my stuff that I have a stash of products from L’Oréal Paris. I bought some of them and the rest were gifts from events. This is not a review. I just wanted to share some products that I tried, hoping that it might help someone out there wanting to try a similar product.

Kérastase Aura Botanica Concentré Essentiel

When I got this I have no idea what this oil is for. The packaging has descriptions of multiple languages but English. So I Google it and found out this is a multifunction oil; you can use it on your scalp, hair, and skin (hands and legs). Use it on your scalp and dry or damp hair before you wash it or add it to your conditioner then rinse it. You don’t need to rinse it if you use it on your skin, though. I usually use 2-3 pumps for my scalp, sometimes I add Himalayan salt to exfoliate my scalp before I rinse it.

It is, however, a bit pricey for my taste. But reading this article from Pop Sugar, it is for a good cause. Not only this product is 96% natural, but the ingredients are also brought to you by local Moroccan women employed with fair wages to make argan oil for the formula.

L’Oréal Paris Extraordinary Oil

Pink Eclat and Gold

Once upon a time, I got a lot of samples of the gold variant of this product and used it wrong. I used one sachet on dry hair and please note that I have thin hair. I ended up looking as if I was just standing in the rain. So, I forgot about those samples until I started using hot tools for styling. I use it as a heat protectant even though I’m not a fan of the smell. I used up all the samples and got a new bottle. But then my friend suggested the pink variant because she said it smells much better and I am intrigued.

This product is a multifunction hair serum to help protect and nourish your hair. Other than as heat protectant, you can use it after you wash your hair, and apply it when your hair is towel dry or half dry. Apply them to your hair strand, especially the ends. This is my favorite method when I’m too lazy to use a hair conditioner. The Extraordinary Oil Pink Eclat one is also enriched with French rose. When it finally dries, your hair feels really smooth and smells amazing~ 🌸

Now I’m trying out the Lavender variant from their Botanical Flower Infusion series. What’s in the bottle? All the good stuff and an actual lavender inside. I wanted to try the rose one but each of the three variants aimed for different hair problems. Rose (pink) for frizzy hair, lavender (purple) for normal hair, and jasmine (green) for damaged hair. My hair is not that damaged or frizzy, so I opted for the lavender one. At first, I thought this was a limited series, but they’re still available at a slightly different price. I like this one, but when I finally empty the bottle, I think I’m going to go back to the pink one.

L’Oréal Paris Revitalift Crystal Micro-Essence

Forgot to take another photo of it without the box haha

I have never used essence before and I’ve been thinking about getting one to complete my routine. I did not know what to get, so many options! And then I got this product. What a nice coincidence, hey? It honestly just feels like water with a bit of scent. You only need four drops and ‘melt’ them in your palms, then tap it on your face. It suggested being used twice a day, before applying makeup in the morning and before skincare at night. I think if you have dry skin, you will notice the difference. I have oily skin and it makes my skin feels supple. It’s worth the price as I figure it will be months until I finish this bottle.

L’Oréal Paris Rouge Signature Lipsticks

Okay, I may not spend any money getting this, but that doesn’t change the fact that I love this product. This lipstick has ultra-thin formula so it feels really light on your lips. It feels like using lip tint, but with more intense color and it dries to a matte finish, with great applicator and nice scent. So, if you’re like me, who really likes using matte lipstick but hate that drying sensation on your lips, give this one a try. I wouldn’t say it’s transfer-proof but definitely better than another brand I tried. Also when it’s fading out and you don’t have time for touch up, it will still leave a sheer of color, again, like lip tint. But it’s not! I love it!

Another thing I like about these lipsticks is the name of the shades. It’s all about empowerment. All the 10 shades are called I Enjoy, I Rule, I Achieve, I Don’t, I Represent, I Am Worth It, I Explore, I Dream, I Choose, and I Embrace.

Alright, those are a few products from L’Oréal Paris that I have tried so far. Maybe I should make this ‘trying out some product’ thing as a regular post for this blog? Hmm, we’ll see. Have a nice weekend!
